Jayne McCallister was awarded the Meg Barnes award on Tuesday, June 5th. This award is in honor of former Girl Scouts of Golden Valley Board member Meg Barnes who became her daughters’ Brownie leader and continued her volunteerism throughout their school years and even after the girls had graduated from high school. The Council presents this award to an outstanding Board member or Community Leader who has gone above and beyond the call to help provide necessary support to ensure the stability of the Council.
Jayne is a woman who does a lot behind the scenes and requires little recognition. She rolls up her sleeves and digs in wherever needed. She has been especially helpful this year. She serves on many Council Committees including, chairing the Board Development Committee, along with her husband, running the entire Cookie Classic Golf Tournament Committee and serving on the Women Inspiring Girls Luncheon Committee. It doesn’t stop there. She also has worked diligently with her own granddaughter’s troop. She was a Girl Scout and has given her grand daughter the gift of Girl Scouting as well.
Congratulations Jayne, we appreciate everything you do for Girl Scouts.
