Melissa Soza, Outreach Supervisor works with staff and girls in many of the underserved areas of our Council territories. She spends her days working with schools, principals, after school coordinators and other people within the community to bring excellent programs to areas in need. She always makes sure the sites for the programs are staffed accordingly and works on the curriculum to ensure it is enjoyable and educational. She also schedules events and has been found to be an excellent face painter. When asked what she would like to accomplish, she responded with, "I would like to make sure that every girl gets the best program, has the most fun and authentic Girl Scout experience as possible."
Melissa has been described as fun loving and energetic. She enjoys working with the girls and is extremely dedicated." Melissa thinks of herself as "a Girl Scout trapped in an adult body." While she was a student at California State University, Fresno, working on her Liberal Studies degree, she wanted to become a teacher. When she joined the staff at Girl Scouts, she found that working with Girl Scouts and teaching go hand in hand.
