Girl Scout Alumnae Spotlight on Carolyn Forster
As a young girl Carolyn recalls working on badges such as storytelling and folklore dancing. Some of her fondest memories are when she would go camping with her troop at Ranch Oso or Mount Kraig.
She remembers cooking morning breakfast at camp and how the troops would rotate serving food to the other leaders and Girl Scout Troops. In 2005, she became a Brownie Leader to her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. One of Carolyn’s most memorable experiences as a leader was in 2014, she was able to go to the Girl Scout National Convention in Utah. She said “It was such a fun and interesting experience. It was fun to exchange pins with other girls and to meet other leaders from all over. It was amazing to meet someone and have an instant bond with them all because of one common thread.” Carolyn received Leader of the Year in 2013 for her dedicated work as a Leader. She says Girl Scouts helped her grow as an individual and gave her the confidence to go back to school to earn her Bachelors in Organizational Leadership.
Carolyn is now a Leader to a Senior and Ambassador Troop she also serves as a Trainer and is a member on the Alumnae Committee.
