Girl Scout Gold Award Scholarships

Thanks to generous support and donors from our community, Girl Scouts of Central California South have scholarship opportunities for Girl Scouts who have achieved the highest award a Girl Scout may recieve. Girl Scouts of Central California South currently has four scholarships avaliable for Gold Award Girl Scouts. Gold Award projects must be sustainable and approved by the Gold Award Advisory Committee of the Girl Scouts of Central California South.

Currently, Girl Scouts of Central California South offers four scholarships. 
The deadline for the 2019 Girl Scout Gold Award scholarships is Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 5:00 PM.

 

STEM Scholarship

A scholarship award will be presented each year to a Gold Award Girl Scout who enrolls in a community college or four-year college or university with the intent of pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in STEM Education. The Girl Scout’s Gold Award Project must be focused on an area of STEM and benefit the community. The project must be sustainable and approved by the Gold Award Advisory Committee of the Girl Scouts of Central California South.

Scholarship is awarded for one year, but student may apply each year up to five years after receiving their Gold Award.

Student must be registered or register as a full-time student at an accredited community college or four (4) year college or university within three months of receiving the scholarship.

Student must have a current high school or college GPA of 3.0 or above.

Student must submit a Summary Statement of Intent to complete their degree in a STEM area and why they have chosen this area of STEM as their future career.

Student must provide two letters of recommendation that support their intent to study an area of STEM. (The letters may come from individuals such as a high school counselor, STEM teachers or professors, or Girl Scout project mentor.)

Participate in an interview with the Girl Scouts of Central California South Scholarship Committee.

A Gold Award Girl Scout may apply up to five years after earning the Gold Award.

Applications will be due on or before January 30, 2019. Final Gold Award projects must be approved prior to Scholarship Application deadline. Scholarship finalists will be notified by February 28, 2019. Interviews will be conducted the week of March 11, 2019. Scholarship recipient(s) will be selected by March 29, 2019. Scholarship(s) will be given to the selected recipient(s) at the Gold Award Luncheon held annually on the second Saturday of May.

If awarded the scholarship, the funds will be deposited directly into the students account at the college or university they are/will be attending.

After completion of their scholarship year, the student(s) must submit a summary of their achievements during that scholarship year to the CEO of Girl Scouts of Central California South.

Meyers Ag Scholarship

A scholarship award will be presented each year to a Gold Award Girl Scout who enrolls in a community college or four-year college or university with the intent of pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agricultural Education. The Girl Scout’s Gold Award must be focused on an area of agriculture and benefit the community. The project must be sustainable and approved by the Gold Award Advisory Committee of the Girl Scouts of Central California South.

Student must be registered or register as a full-time student at an accredited community college or four (4) year college or university within three months of receiving the scholarship.

Student must submit a Summary Statement of Intent to complete their degree in the field of Agriculture and why they have chosen Agriculture as their future career.

Student must provide two letters of recommendation that support their intent to study agriculture. (The letters may come from an FFA mentor, high school counselor, agriculture teacher/professor, or Girl Scout project mentor.)

State Center Community College Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships will be awarded each year to a Gold Award Girl Scouts who enroll in a program of study at a State Center Community College District campus. The Gold Award project must be sustainable, approved and confirmed by the Gold Award Advisory Committee of the Girl Scouts of Central California South’s completion deadline in order to receive a scholarship.

Scholarship is awarded for one year, but student may apply each year for up to two years of their community college education.

Student must be registered in classes or registered as a full-time student at a State Center Community College District campus within three months of receiving the scholarship.

Student must have a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or above.

Student must submit a Summary Statement of Intent to continue a certification program or higher education.

Student must provide two letters of recommendation. (These letters may come from a high school counselor, teachers or professors or Girl Scout Gold Award project mentor.) Letters must be typed, signed and reference must give a telephone number.

Participate in an interview with the Girl Scout Scholarship Committee.
