Forever Green

GSCCS girls can be part of the international Together Greening Take Action project!

The Alcoa Foundation provided GSUSA with a two-year $1.5 million grant to expand Forever Green globally to 14 countries. This grant will enable U.S. Girl Scouts and international Girl Guides to work together and lead their families, schools and communities in environmental stewardship.

We are excited that Girl Scouts of Central California South is one of 14 Girl Scout councils that will participate in this global Take Action project!

Girls in the US and around the world will work together on Take Action projects focused on waste reduction, energy conservation and rain gardens. Girls will lead local youth in their communities in projects to reduce their environmental footprint._

Local Girl Scouts, ages 14 – 17,  are leading this global twinning project, working on environmental projects with Girl Guides from our selected country, Guinea.  They are collaborating with Girl Guides from Guinea to develop, plan and implement international environmental take action projects in their communities by engaging youth locally.

Our local Girl Scouts from Fresno, Clovis and Kerman are part of only 300 Girl Scouts in the United States who will work on this Alcoa-sponsored international environment project!
