Girl Scouts of Central California South, CEO, Cathy Ferguson recently attended the Girl Scouts National Corporate Leadership Meeting in Washington D.C. The theme for this year’s meeting this year was: “What Must We Do ToGetHerThere*?” The meeting included topics such as: Dialogue on Operational Topics, Awareness and Action, Media and our Cause Campaign, and Strategic Corporate Philanthrophy. They The CEOs had “How do we Get Her There discussions” and table discussions with other councils in which they shared ideas about what has worked in their own regions. ”It was a great learning experience, and I am excited to use what I have learned to continuously better our council. The session about Organizing and Pitching Your Value Proposition was especially important to me as this is the direction I hope our council can go regarding corporate sponsorships. It is not asking for donations but providing a mutually beneficial opportunity through a sponsorship – Learning how Girl Scouts can implement and give the corporate sponsor what it needs,” – stated Cathy.
Jill Biden, the speaker for one of the evening receptions, spoke about her experience being a Girl Scout while wearing a uniform and sash. Later that evening she was presented with an updated sash. Jill shared the value Girl Scouts has had with the military and project Operation Gratitude. Taking care of the military families is dear to her heart. She took pictures with Girl Scouts from each area in the U.S. The picture posted below is a picture of Jill Biden and the CEOs from all the California councils.
