Lamont Girl Scout troop 507 went camping in July to Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande. They used their proceeds from the Girl Scout cookie sale. The first day they set up their tents, made a bonfire and cooked delicious s’mores. While on the trip the girls learned how to fish, went to a local water slide park, sang songs by the campfire and saw many deer and wild turkeys. They went to the Bee’s Knees show and learned about the different types of bees, and why they are important to our environment. The weather was wonderful and the girls can’t wait to go camping next year. It was a great life experience. They thank everyone who made this possible by buying Girl Scout cookies. 10 girls went on the camping trip – Aalijah , Alexis, Jacquelyn , Monique , Daisy , Vanessa, Jasmin, Victoria , Carolina, and Katelynn.
