Historical Badge Workshops

In order to truly appreciate how far Girl Scouting has come in the last 100 years, we are reviving ten historical Girl Scout Proficiency Badges, one from each decade. These ten badges will be available in limited quantities and only for the 2011/2012 Girl Scout Year. After September 30, 2012, they will not be available. If your Troop or Service Unit is interested in purchasing badges contact the Program Manager as soon as possible as ordering is only available for a limited time.

To complete these badges girls will have three options:

  1. Attend a Council Sponsored Badge Workshop - ten will be hosted around the Council area throughout the year.
  2. As a Troop you may download the requirements and work on the badges as a Troop, complete a Historical Proficiency Badge Order form and mail it back to the Program Department with payment.
  3. As an independent Girl Scout working with a trusted adult, download the requirements as a Troop would, and return the order form once completed with your payment.

As these are historical proficiency badges, they are to be worn on the front of the vest, sash or tunic. The badges themselves will be as close to the original historical badges they represent and outlined in Gold, to represent the 100th anniversary.

Purchase your Historical Badge for $1.50. Click here for the order form. Please submit your form to the Program Department ssmith@girlscoutsccs.org.
