On July 10th, we hosted a media training event for our Super Sellers Secret Society Honors or SSSSH Girls. The SSSSH girls are our top earning Girl Scouts. To reach the secret society girls need to sell a minimum of 1000 Girl Scout cookie boxes. When they reach this goal they earn the right to be on the GSCCS media team! 24 SSSSH girls traveled from Visalia, Oakhurst, and Madera to attend the SSSSH girl media training.
The media team was trained for all interviews; radio, print and television. Zara Arboleda from CBS 47 came to the training to talk to the girls about television interviews. A few topics discussed in the training were, what to do to prepare for an interview, the proper way to answer a question, and what to do if they don’t know the answer to something. They left the training prepared for any interview and ready for their close up!
“We use our SSSSH girls throughout the year for interviews, presentations, ceremonies and so much more. They are the face of our council, and are truly girls of courage, character and confidence. They put a lot of hard work into becoming our top cookie sellers, and are proud to represent their council,” stated CEO, Cathy Ferguson.
There will be a media training event on July 25th in Bakersfield. Cambi Brown from KBAK will join us at our Bakersfield Council office to talk about Television interviews.
