Explore STEM

At Girl Scouts of Central California South, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) encompasses everything from protecting California’s beloved natural resources, to building robots. In our diverse set of STEM programs, girls develop leadership abilities and technical skills that not only spark an invested interest in science and technology, but also set them up for future success.

Quote from our Cadette Breathe Journey

“This is so cool, I didn’t know anything about our space or air before this.  I really didn’t care.  My favorite part was I created the solutions to the problem I see in my air.”

Brownie Think Like An Engineer Journey: “I am so excited doing the projects, I feel like an inventor! It was hard sometimes but my friend helped me.” Alexis GSCCS Brownie

When girls participate in Girl Scout STEM programs, they benefit in four important ways:

  2. STEM Confidence: Girls have confidence in their STEM skills and abilities.

  3. STEM Competence: Girls think scientifically to solve problems.

  4. STEM Value: Girls learn the importance and relevance of STEM to people and society.
