Luci Christian is a Girl Scout Mom who was looking for something fun
for her Girl Scouts to do this summer. She came across our Anime/Manga
Camp series. Luci reached out to us and explained who she was. Luci is
known for playing Ochako Uraraka on My Hero Academia, we were stunned!
And a lot of the GSCCS staff became star struck because Luci agreed to
come on during our camp to talk to the girls. It was an absolute honor
to watch Luci talk to the girls and it was an emotional moment for all
who participated in this camp. Thank you Luci!
The year 2020 has been different for eveyrone. Here at GSCCS we knew
that we had to take quick action when our in-person events were
canceled. Thus, we turned to technology which lead us to GSCCS at Your
Fingertips. Our goal was to make sure girls were still getting the
sisterhood, fun, interaction and creativity we've built with our
programs and events.
Since March 2020 we’ve held camps, life skill workshops, financial
literacy series, STEM workshops along with some of our annual events
like Girl Scouts Love State Parks, AgriNation and Believe in the Power
of a GIRL. Going virtual has also given us the opportunity to add a
few events such as Hocus Pocus, Harvest Fest and Frozen Fairytale Tea Party.
Going virtual has given the opportunity for our girls to meet with
other girls from across the country and world. We’ve had girls from
Germnay, South America and many of the states attend our events and
workshops. This truly has been the light at the end of the tunnel for
the GSCCS Girl Experience Staff and all those who’eve helped out to
make our virtual offerings a succsess.
