Several years ago, when it became clear that our current Bakersfield Service Center was no longer serving our staff well, and even more so, wasn’t an inspiring or efficient space for our girls and volunteers, we immediately began envisioning something entirely new! When we initially approached our Board with this significant undertaking, they stood behind our vision for a cutting-edge, girl-centric space with full support. While the road to this new space hasn’t been brief or easy – and has taken much longer than we expected – we are thrilled to unveil plans for the NEW Girl Scout Innovation Center in Bakersfield.
We still have a series of minor improvements and remodels to complete in the coming months, but we wanted you, our membership, to be the first to know this exciting news. We are currently in the vendor selection process and have yet to confirm final remodel timelines with the contractor; however, we expect to hold the official Grand Opening Celebration in January 2024.
In the meantime, we will continue to operate out of our current Service Center at 1831 Brundage Lane in Bakersfield until construction is complete. We can’t wait to share more about the Girl Scout Innovation Center at 2160 Mars Court and have developed this webpage for our members to see the latest updates on construction, features, and Grand Opening activities.
