Adventure begins with every page turned! The GSCCS Summer Reading Challenge invites Girl Scouts of all ages to discover new stories, explore exciting worlds, and grow their imagination all summer long. Whether Girl Scouts are reading under a blanket fort, at the library, on a family trip, or in their own backyard, this flexible program encourages Girl Scouts to build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading from anywhere.

Through the Summer Reading Challenge, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to explore books that inspire curiosity, adventure, friendship, leadership, and discovery. Participants can follow curated reading suggestions designed to help Girl Scouts explore different genres, topics, and themes while encouraging independent reading and personal growth. This self-paced experience allows families to create a summer reading routine that works best for them while still feeling connected to the larger Girl Scout community.

Perfect for curious minds, imaginative thinkers, and Girl Scouts who love to dream big, the GSCCS Summer Reading Challenge offers a fun and engaging way to continue learning throughout the summer months while earning an exclusive patch to celebrate their accomplishment.

Throughout the challenge, Girl Scouts will:
* Explore new books, characters, and stories
* Build reading confidence and independent learning skills
* Discover curated reading suggestions for different interests and age levels
* Strengthen creativity and imagination through storytelling
* Earn an exclusive GSCCS Summer Reading Challenge patch

What to Expect:
Girl Scouts may complete the challenge from anywhere and at their own pace between June 1 and July 31, 2026. Reading can take place at home, at the library, while traveling, during quiet time, or anywhere books can be enjoyed. Families are encouraged to make reading part of their summer adventures and celebrate milestones together along the way. This is based on the honor system. Please encourage your Girl Scouts and Families to read this summer.
