This exciting evening camp offers girls the chance to explore local
businesses and iconic landmarks-all after hours. Through guided tours,
fun activities, and engaging stories, you'll gain a deeper
understanding of how our town operates and the important places that
make it special. Perfect for curious minds and adventure seekers,
Summer Twilight Camp provides a unique opportunity to learn, explore,
and connect.
What to Expect on Day 1
As night falls, girls will take part in a guided ghost tour through some of Bakersfield's most iconic and mysterious locations. Prior to that, we will be stopping for dinner to prep ourselves up for the mysteries ahead. Stops may include well-known sites such as The Padre Hotel, The Bakersfield Californian Building, and The Nile Theater, each with its own fascinating stories and lingering legends.
Along the way, girls will hear about the spirits and stories said to still reside in these historic spaces, gaining insight into how history, emotion, and storytelling intertwine
With guidance and support throughout the evening, this after-dark event will empower girls to step outside their comfort zones, embrace curiosity, and create lasting memories with their peers.
Throughout the evening, girls will:
Explore notable historic locations with reported paranormal activity
Learn about Bakersfield's past, including moments of tragedy, resilience, and growth
Engage in guided storytelling that brings local legends and history to life

Camperships Are Available
Thanks to the generous support of the Waverly Grant, Girl Scouts of Central California South is offering camperships (camp scholarships) to help 5th and 6th grade Girl Scouts attend Summer Twilight Camp. These camperships help ensure every girl has the opportunity to enjoy an amazing camp experience-regardless of financial barriers.

Important: Selecting "Other" does not automatically apply the discount. Families must complete the Campership Application to be considered.

Camperships are awarded based on need and availability. We encourage any family who would benefit from financial support to apply. Our goal is to make Day Camp accessible to as many Girl Scouts as possible.

Terms and Conditions
Cancellations:
Transfers, cancellations, or refund requests must be made in writing to customercare@girlscoutsccs.org 30 days prior to the registration deadline for the event. Cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. There are no refunds after the deadline or closing date of the event. Please see individual refund policies for merchandise and add-on activities associated with this event.
Program Credits:
Choose Program Credits as the payment method to redeem Cookie Dough/Nut Bucks/Renewal Program Credits. Registration will not be finalized until Program Credits have been approved by staff and the Cookie Dough and Nut Bucks Form has been submitted. When using program credits at checkout, please allow 7 days for approval. Events and activities do sell out quickly, so it is recommended that members register early and redeem physical Cookie Dough or Nut Bucks.
Special Circumstances:
GSCCS is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for attendees who may have special circumstances or needs that may require alternative planning. Attendees with special circumstances should include the accommodation need in the box labeled "Special Circumstances," for our staff to review. Additionally, any dietary needs should be included in the "Dietary Restrictions" box so our staff can contact you.
